Getting Kaycie ready for school this morning was a little daunting. She had an argument for everything. We went back and forth until this final exchange.
I asked in a calm yet stressed voice, “Kaycie, I need you to go brush your teeth and brush your hair.”
Kaycie complained, “Why do I have to do everything myself?”
I try to respond, “You’re six now you can do anything.”
With her incredible timing, instantly Kaycie says, “No, I can’t lift an elephant.”
Defeated, I left the room.
