You have to love summer camp. They make it fun for the kids by having different themed days where the kids can dress up and have fun.
Earlier this week we had wacky clothes day and Kaycie won for wackiest outfit. So I think she was feeling a bit of pressure this morning which was team color day.
Her team color is red and she just DID NOT have enough red items to wear today. So far she had a red shirt, a red bracelet and small red toy. Her Ooma even took her to the store to buy a red head band. Kaycie REALLY wanted red hair color spray. The store did not have it. She was getting pretty upset over this and was crying and carrying on.
Kaycie was mad, “The store did not have what I wanted.”
I tried calming her down by telling her repeatedly that nobody always gets what they want… etc. Finally had to get down to her level and look her in the eyes.
I said, “Kaycie, do you know what they call little girls who cry when they don’t get what they want?”
Kaycie looked me right in the eye and answered, “Boys.”
It is tough to scold a child when laughing.
